La Rosiere 1850 mid-March 2010

La Rosiere, France is located in the heart of the French Alps in the Upper Tarantaise and Savoie skiing area on the French/ Italian border. La Rosiere forms part of the L’Espace San Bernardo skiing ski area, it has a great snow record. Skiing in La Rosiere opens mid-December 2010, the season ends in late April. Many chalet operators will open their chalets on Monday 13 December but if you are travelling independently may be flexible with the start date for your ski holiday in La Rosiere.

La Rosiere’s location gives it the advantage of catching weather systems from Italy and France. Often La Rosiere has above average snowfalls for the Tarentaise region with snow throughout the resort at the end of April. La Rosiere and Les Eucherts form a pretty, south facing resort that catches plenty of sunshine: great for a relaxing ski holiday. Designed in the early 1980s, La Rosiere is sympathetic to its environment using local building materials such as stone, wood and slate for its ski chalets and hotels as opposed to some of the concrete block architecture that was popular in earlier ski resorts.

La Rosiere labels itself as ‘Famille Plus Montagne’ (Family and Mountain) because of its numerous child friendly facilities and activities that make it a great destination for a family ski holiday or for a mixed ability group holiday.
