La Rosiere
Ski slopes of La Rosiere
A guide to all the ski runs in and around La Rosiere. Also, snowparks in La Rosiere and ski runs of La Thuile.
Dahu - Green
This is the beginners slope in les Eucherts
Escargot - Green
A flat run so not good for snowboarders. This is used as a link from the top of Les Eucherts to La Rosiere 1850.
Foret – Green
A nice wide run for beginner skiers starting on the Libellule piste and similarly finishing with a ski through the forest back to la Rosière. Lots of little bumps at the sides for kids.
Les Clarines – Green
This run is one of the two free ski runs. It is an easy piste but can be busy with beginner skiers and snowboarders.
Libellule - Green
A nice wide ski run for beginners finishing with a section in the forest, that takes you back to la Rosière.
Manessier - Green
This run is one of the two free ski runs. It is an easy piste but can be busy with beginner skiers and snowboarders.
Choucas - Blue
A mainly flat path from the top of Le Fort down to La Rosière crossing many pistes. You can ski this piste back to la Rosière from most points on the mountain. You need to schuss several sections of it.
Faisan – Blue
A piste that alternates between flat and steep: you must get up speed on the steep parts to cross the flat parts! On your way back from La Thuile, Italy, you ski Les Carabiners and then Faisan to get back to la Rosière, France.
Gelinotte – Blue
The main piste in Les Eucherts, a gentle wide open ski run but beware many people ski it faster than their ability suggests they should
La Redoute – Blue
You can only get to this short slope from the Landelieres ski lift so the ascent will be slow. A waste of time other than providing access to Le Fort where there are some great views.
Les Carabiniers – Blue
This ski run provides a link back to La Rosière in France from La Thuile in Italy.
Les Lauzes – Blue
A path from the bottom of Le Fort to Les Eucherts. Fairly flat so you will need to schuss.
Papillon - Blue
Provides easy access from La Rosière itself to Les Eucherts passing close to the altiport as well as the brand new Ski Beat catered chalets.
Perdrix - Blue
A nice but in part slightly narrow ski run with a lot of gentle descending steps.
Renard - Blue
A wide piste going from the top of Eucherts Express and Poletta ski lifts to the main Tetras piste.
RN 91 – Blue
This is a short blue ski run from the bottom of the Roc Noir ski lift to the bottom of Landelieres. The Landelieres is a very slow lift and can be avoided.
Rouvinettes – Blue
A path allowing access between the Tetras ski run and the top of Les Ecudets ski lift.
Tetras – Blue
From the top of Le Roc Noir, this wide blue run takes you all they way back to the village of La Rosiere: a drop of almost 500m.
Villard Dessus – Blue
This piste provides access all the way down to Seez; it is hardly ever open or pisted.
Belette – Red
A flattering slope, from the top of Le Roc Noir, to the Fort chairlift. It is probably the most popular route from la Rosiere across to the skiing in Italy.
Blaireau - Red
An easy less technical version of Traversette, you can cross between these two pistes at various places during your descent
Blanchot – Red
From the top of the Landeliers chairlift to the Fort chairlift, another flattering red run.
Bouquetin - Red
This piste starts at the top of the Chardonnet chair lift if coming from the Italian side or the top of the Fort chairlift on the French side when coming from la Rosiere. To ski to Italy from la Rosiere you need to ski this short and fairly easy red run down to the Bellecombe lift
Chamois - Red
A nice wide piste, good for carving on your skis as it’s not too steep. The piste decends in steps.
Fontaine Froide – Red
The main ski run through les Ecudets forest. This is a nice piste but the bottom is at 1176m so it can be slushy and then when re-frozen icy: better in January or February.
Marmottes - Red
From the top of Le Roc Noir to the bottom of the Petit Bois chairlift this long ski run drops 836m, it is fairly physical to ski without stopping.
Marmottons – Red
Gives access to the bottom section of the Marmottes piste from the Petit Bois chair lift.
Mouflon - Red
From the top of the slow Landelieres chairlift, back down to the same lift, an enjoyable red, giving you a chance to practice your carving skills.
Roc Noir - Red
A short but enjoyable piste that starts from the Eucherts Express chairlift or Tetras ski run and joins the RN91 piste.
Traversette – Red
One of the few pistes in La Rosiere where you will find moguls. These are at the top fo the run, and it then becomes less steep and widens out. It runs parallel to Blaireau. At the bottom you either take the Fort chairlift, or ski the flat Les Lauzes blue run back to Les Eucherts.
Chevreuil - Black
The ski run starts at the top of the Roches Noires Express and joins the red Mouflon ski run.
Ecudets – Black
An alternative to Fontaine Froid but not so interesting. There are often moguls and the ski run can be icy.
Ecureuil – Black
A short very steep run providing access between the Tetras ski run and les Ecudets forest. In this direction you will have to do a long schuss at the end or take the Sevoliere chairlift.
Marcassin – Black
An alternative piste to Marmottons and Marmottes. It starts at the top of the Petit Bois chair lift and descends to the bottom of that ski lift.
It is recommended that skiing or snowboarding off-piste is only undertaken with a properly qualified guide and when carry the necessary safety equipment.
