Skiing in La Rosiere 1850

Skiing in La Rosière La Rosière at 1850m is part of the larger Espace San Bernardo skiing domain. La Rosière and La Thuile (in Italy) make up the 150kms of skiing terrain. The sunny south facing slopes of La Rosière make it a perfect choice for those who like to top up the panda eye tan. La Thuile slopes are north facing and can add diversity to a days skiing but be warned...on bad weather days, the resort can all but close down as high winds and heavy snowfalls can force lift and piste closures.

La Rosière has a fantastic snow record as its geographical orientation means that it catches good snowfalls when the bad weather rolls in from the west. Pistes are generally not too overcrowded so can offer families of varying abilities a stress-free skiing experience whilst taking in the fantastic alpine views.
Beginners: There are good nursery slopes and short lifts near la Rosiere 1850 itself as well as Les Eucherts.

Intermediates: The bottom half of La Rosiere’s slopes are mainly gentle, open, blue and green runs, ideal for early intermediates. The top half below Le Roc Noir and Col de la Traversette have steeper and more interesting red runs.

Advanced: Ski down to La Thuile through the trees.
Off piste skiing: A guide is always recommended when skiing off piste. One of the best sites for describing the off piste skiing and snowboarding of La Rosiere would be Pistehors. Heli skiing can be booked through Evolution 2 in La Rosiere.
Skiing in La Rosiere Ski passes can be bought on line via the la Rosiere tourist office and other sites. These websites can often be so confusing that people give up.

It is probably best to buy your La Rosiere ski pass via your tour operator, some bigger operators seem to use very generous exchange rates (to them) when buying in advance so beware. Smaller tour operators tend to sell lift passes locally and at the normal public rate - these would normally be delivered to your ski accommodation in La Rosiere.
